10 Useful Baking Tools and Equipment for Beginners 2021
Whether you’re a beginner or not, these are the top essential and useful baking tools to have in your kitchen. When it comes to the kitchen equipment, I have minimal space, so I always think about where I will store it before buying it!
I do a lot of baking in my house, so I like to make sure I have the best ones to use and something that will last more than 6 months! Here is a list of baking tools you will always need and use.
NUMBER 1 USEFUL Baking tool
My number 1 baking tool and the one I use the most and the best thing I’ve ever bought is the sensational Kitchenaid Artisan Mixer!
KitchenAid Artisan Mixer 4.8L
Ok, they are a bit expensive, but they are good. You can buy different attachments for them. We bought the pasta maker attachment so we can make out own pasta. Alternatively, there is the KENWOOD MIXER which is on special at the moment at £259.
NUMBER 2 BAKING TOOL
The second best baking tool used most days and recommended to everyone is the wonderful KENWOOD MINI CHOPPER! Don’t you just hate chopping onions, carrots etc.? Just put them in the mini chopper, and it saves loads of time and your hands. You can also make sauces, mayonnaise and pastes in this little thing, and it’s small enough for your cupboard.
NUMBER 3 BAKING TOOL
When baking my brownies and biscuits, baking paper is always at hand. It makes everything easier to remove from your baking trays. I always buy the large roll, so it lasts, plus it’s cheaper in the long run.
NUMBER 4 BAKING TOOL
Measuring spoons. Yes, you could use your teaspoons at home, but they are all different sizes, so it’s a bit of a hit and miss with the measurements. Go for stainless steel measuring spoons.
NUMBER 5 BAKING TOOL
Glass bowls or Pyrex dishes. You can get these in different sizes and are handy for whisking your eggs, weighing out your flour etc.
NUMBER 6 BAKING TOOL
A good saucepan when you’re melting your butter and chocolate. I go for a heavy, sturdy pan that will not tip over when cooking. We use the Circulon brand as they last for years.
Number 7 baking tool
Dough cutter or brownie cutter. A convenient tool to cut your brownies at equal size.
NUMBER 8 BAKING TOOL
Cake tins, of course!! There are loads to choose from but remember you have to store these somewhere, and if you have a small kitchen with limited space, you will need something stackable. Try and go for a springform tin so you can remove the bottom.
NUMBER 9 BAKING TOOL
Piping bags. Go for piping bags on their own rather than in a set as these are better quality, and your get more for your money. For the nozzles, go for stainless steel cake piping nozzles, as they are made of food-grade material and are better to clean.
NUMBER 10 BAKING TOOL
Last but not least is cake storage containers. I go for the 4 litre long boxes. You can get them in different colours, and they are stackable. These are ideal for cupcakes and biscuits. For larger cakes, i.e., Victoria Sandwich, use a cake storage tin.
