How To Pin A Tweet On Twitter
wHAT IS A PINNED TWEET
A ‘Pinned Tweet’ is a Tweet that stays at the top of your stream. People that visit your profile see your favourite or most popular tweet first.
Some people on Twitter will post on their feed ‘who wants to ‘pin for a pin?’ When I first saw this, I was like, what earth are they talking about! This means if you retweet their ‘Pinned Tweet’, they will do the same to your ‘Pinned Tweet’, which is good to get your business ideas out there.
WHY HAVE A PINNED TWEET
It attracts more attention
Increase in engagement, meaning you’ll get more likes and retweets
It promotes your content for FREE
Generates traffic
A way to test marketing your efforts, meaning you can see what works and what doesn’t.
WHAT MAKES A GOOD PINNED TWEET
You should try and include images in as many tweets as possible, as normal tweets can be overlooked. I use Canva Pro for my images. They have a Twitter template section ready to start your image. Canva has loads of photos you can use or can upload your own images, add text, etc. It’s the only thing I use on all my social media accounts.
HOW TO PIN A TWEET
OK, go to your tweet that you’ve already tweeted (usually the most popular one), and in the top right hand corner you will see three horizontal dots. Click on it and you’ll see ‘Pin to your profile‘, click on this and it’s done! Simple.
Tip: Include a trackable link in your pinned tweet to link to a landing page, and don’t forget to hashtag as I’ve forgotten numerous times!!
To get more clicks, retweets etc Pinning a Tweet is the way forward! Try now and Pin your best Tweets and see your engagement increase. Let me know how you get on!
How to edit a tweet
I have looked into this, and unfortunately, Twitter doesn’t allow you to edit your tweets after they have been published. Make sure you do it right the first time. If you do need to change it, delete it and start again.
HOW TO PIN SOMEONE ELSE’S TWEET
Go to their profile and go to the tweet you want to pin. Click on the retweet button but click on the ‘Quote Tweet’. Either type something in or just put a full stop. This will now be added to your feed. You can pin the tweet using the same instructions as you would pin your own tweet!
Simple, now you can pin other people’s tweets.
